description

Collage.

Peter Blake’s most famous work, reflecting the mood and psychedelic culture of the 1960s. Blake worked on the collage together with American artist Jenn Haworth, whom he had married shortly before. On the cover, designed in the style of a collage, in addition to musicians, the participants of the quartet, there are several dozens of famous personalities, ranging from Karl Marx to Bob Dylan. Actors, writers, musicians and scientists create a motley crowd surrounding the Beatles from all sides. They symbolize the popularity of the group and its connection with both modern culture and the legacy of the past. The music album of the group, the cover of which was created by Blake, became a cult, and millions of its copies were sold around the world. The artist himself received only a modest payment of 200 pounds from this project.
