Located in the sculpture garden, Minneapolis, the USA.
One of the most recognizable and romantic works by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen – a 15-meter, 7-meter spoon with a cherry is a symbol of the American city of Minneapolis. Installed in a sculpture garden, it serves as a fountain, which falls from the very tip of a cherry stem and makes its surface attractively shiny, like a real berry. On the lawn around the spoon, various cultural events are constantly held and young people gather. In winter, when the small lake above which the spoon is set freezes and the ground gets covered with snow, the lawn looks like a huge cream cake with a distinctive accent – a bright red cherry in the middle.
