The Getty portal celebrates its fourth birthday with the publication of more than 100,000 books on architecture and art. Most importantly, access to all materials is provided absolutely free.
This platform is the brainchild of the Getty Center in Los Angeles, in the creation of the archive which was attended by more than 20 different institutions from around the world. Among them are the New York Museum of Solomon Guggenheim, as well as the Library of the Duke of Augustus in Germany.
The portal works as a search aggregator, with which users can get a digital version of a publication in a particular storage system. It is worth noting that each book has its own URL, which allows people to quickly and actively share links with each other.
Thanks to the new design of the platform, the search for materials has become more convenient and understandable.
