In this painting, we can see an image of a military parade, which takes place on the official birthday of the Queen of England. She is seated on a single bay horse; according to the protocol, the Duke of Edinburgh is on the left of her. In one composition, the artist managed to depict a convincing sensation of the variety of movements of the walking people and the horse detachment that can be observed during this ceremony. Besides, the master reliably depicted many details of uniforms of several types. Exaggeratedly bright shadows emphasize the clarity of the movement of the parade participants. The conventions, to which the artist resorts depicting all the participants in the action and all the attributes, fit this topic perfectly.
