In this plot landscape, where the presence of human activity is seen, the author especially clearly follows the principles of Post-impressionism – he uses not only large planes of local colours but also the highlighted flatness of the image objects, as well as the unusual brightness of the palette. The artist used contrasting colours – very blue water, dark brown mountains, multi-coloured boats in the foreground and red masts with white assembled sails that “did not fit” into the size of the canvas – everything serves the purpose of conveying a kind of childish, naive perception of an ordinary view.
