The artist wrote, “I do not pretend to be referred to any research school. I am interested in, first of all, the aesthetic value of the magic of fine art and its influence on the creative imagination of a person”. Undoubtedly, the painting telling about the exile from Egypt (the viewer knows about this from the image of the pyramids at the distant background), influences the imagination. The emotions of the running crowd are understandable even without clarity of their faces. Strong wind, raising hair and clothes, the green sea ready to swallow people, hands raised in a typical gesture – both the plot and its artistic presentation are impressive.
