After the end of the war, the Surrealistic movement in the USA gradually ceased to exist, as many of its representatives returned to Europe, while others changed their style into more actual styles. The changes also concerned the art of Donati, who shifted from amorphous organic forms to more geometric and crystalline in his work “The alchemist’s tower”. Objects that before chaotically swam in the mystical space now acquired certain forms and distinct position on the equally painted background. Colors smoothly flowing into each other were replaced by separate areas of one color, while the paintings themselves because more difficult in structure, but more bright in composition. At the same time, the theme and meaning of works remained mysterious and not decipherable.
